The park’s trails and boardwalks invite a slower look at the Lowcountry; one playground structure is scheduled for resurfacing October 26–30.

A park visit can be a chance to notice how quickly a landscape changes from shade to open marsh. Palmetto Islands County Park combines maritime forest, meadow and tidal wetlands, with paved trails and boardwalks for exploring the Lowcountry setting.
The county park is at 444 Needlerush Parkway in Mount Pleasant. Current listed admission is $2 per person, with free entry for Gold Pass members and children two and younger. September–December hours run from 8 a.m. to sunset, and the entrance gate closes to incoming traffic thirty minutes before park closing.

Families planning around the playground should note a specific upcoming interruption: the structure for ages five to twelve is scheduled to close for resurfacing October 26–30. The park says other playground areas will remain available. Check the latest alert before going, since maintenance details can change.
For a quieter outing, choose a comfortable route from the park map and stop where the established boardwalk offers a view into the marsh. Watch the movement of water or birds without expecting a particular sighting. Leave time to return well before closing, and treat a short, attentive walk as a complete visit rather than trying to fit every park amenity into the same day.
